Plant a seed, water it to speed things along, come back once it's ready and harvest. Each planting uses a seed: buy potato and onion seeds from the stall, and find the rest from bird nests, the Tithe Farm, clue caskets and monster kills. Every monster kill has a 1 in 50 chance to drop a random farming seed, at any Farming level. Nothing dies if you forget to water — it just takes a little longer. Farming runs alongside whatever else you're doing.

Chop trees for Woodcutting xp and logs to sell. Chopping takes the place of fighting: start a tree and you leave your boss, and it keeps going while you're offline, the same as combat. Higher levels and better axes chop faster. Bird nests sometimes fall with a seed inside.

Pickpocket people for Thieving xp and coins. Like Woodcutting, it takes the place of fighting and keeps going offline. A failed attempt stuns you for a few seconds, and your success rate climbs as your level passes the target's. The Master Farmer drops a seed 1 pickpocket in 10 (mostly low-level ones, now and then a herb seed) and pays coins the rest of the time.

Burn the logs you chop for Firemaking xp. Each burn uses one log from your bank. Like Woodcutting, it takes the place of fighting and keeps going offline, and it stops by itself when you run out of that log. Burning is much quicker than chopping, and higher levels burn faster still.
